Description
Check out the new Tiny Dangerous Dungeons! Timmy returns in a new Metroidvania adventure! http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/22 535
Dangerous Dungeons tells us a story about Timmy, a little thief- err, treasure hunter, who has arrived to a deep and dark dungeon, ready to face the dangers inside to claim the biggest treasure in the world. DD Has been made to look and play like old classic platformers, so it can be quite challenging, watch out! Awesome music by KungFuFurby!
INSTRUCTIONS:
Use arrow keys to move and Z to jump.
Activate Switches and pick up keys by simply touching them.
Press R to restart a stage.
Press P to pause the game.
Press Esc to return to the main menu.
Doors in the stage selection open when you reach their corresponding stage the first time in either normal gameplay or Time Attack. The game will save between stages, so you can always continue your adventure later without losing progress!
Time Attack Mode:
If you choose Time Attack from the main menu, the game skips the intro and all cutscenes, and the game begins right away from the Stage 1. In this mode, a counter appears to the top right corner, and it will count how long it takes you to clear the game. Returning to main menu or entering secret stage the normal way will terminate your time so be careful!
Secret Stages:
The game has three hidden levels that are required to be beaten for you to reach the definitely final stage. You will receive hints how to find them after you beat Stage 30. These stages are not entered from doors, but by exiting the screen from the right area.
The game has won the Summer Game Jam 2011 contest!

Am I supposed to be able to skip to any stage I like with the Stage Selector? I haven't been able to beat level 10 yet but I was able to go through door #11

Nice game.
Only thing I can complain about is that the controls are a bit too...sensitive. :P

Thanks, I never noticed that and fixed it. It's no longer possible to just stand on a spot and let the rock roll under you.

I'm not sure if you ment for this, but in that room of spikes, before the key in stage 10, you can stand on that highest point, and the dude will pass right under you.

You can always use the stage selection to skip any stage you feel that is too hard.
You can return to the main menu at any point by pressing Esc.

Before I critique I want to emphasize that this is a good start. I wouldn't bother to say anything if I thought the game sucked. It's good work you're doing. Now having said that...
The 'physics' of the jump are not natural. There was plenty of room for experimentation back in the 80s, but by now everybody expects characters to jump like Mario. The more like Mario you make his jumps the more accessible the game will feel. A Mario game can still be difficult of course.
It's better to make a difficult game that controls like Mario than to make a game that is difficult because it doesn't control enough like Mario.
I only got to level 10. I can tell from reading some of your responses that you don't want to make the game too easy. Well rest-assured. Mission accomplished. Although difficult games are awesome, you might want to think about all of the people who've commented that they can't beat level 10 and quit there. I don't know what level 11 looks like but I'd be willing to be that you didn't do all that work just to see so many of the people playing your game quit before they even make it there.

Nice game! :D
On the first stage, however, it says "level" one, while on the second it says "stage" 2. I'm not sure which style you stuck with, bit you might want to make them all the same. :P

Great game, but my first impression to the jump control was that it felt like I was being launched from a high tension spring with a strong elecromagnet under it and a iron attached to my ass.. but it's probably just me :P
